It doesn't need a flex, if anything flex is the lower quality. The car has exhaust hanger mounts for that. Every flex dp I've owned ended up leaking at some point. 8+ years on my solid dp with no issues. I'm glad you are saving this car 👍

As it is for ever established and easy to understand, the downpipe and whole exhaust requires flex-joints to accommodate the rocking of the engine : it rotates under power on/off continuously, and this is why OEM has flex joints.

OEM Evo has rather ingenious flex-joint- the spring loaded joint from Elbow to downpipe with fully radiused OEM matrix seal.

Another great solution Lancer Evo has implemented is turbo-elbow bolted to the engine block, to "triangulate" the turbo manifold/turbo assembly against the block- take off the load of exhaust and turbo weight off the turbo to manifold flange studs/bolts and turbo to head studs/bolts.

To each his own, but Factory and race cars uses flex joints, for a great reason. I highly recommend using flex joints, I never tried without on Evo but did on other cars and exhaust broke, studs turbo-to manifold broke, etc.

Look closer at the invidia o2 housing he is going to use. It has similar donut gasket seal design as oem. And if I remember correctly he can re-use the oem spring bolts .

No, because i was waitung 3 month for the Turbo of Forced Performance, then i cancel my order.

I found one in Germany how has still some NEW FP Green with MHI housing and 84mm surge in stock. so i order there Monday 1. mars and i got it yesterday.

The time you have to wait at Forced Performance at the moment is really bad.

Maybe, we will see. Because i don't like the tracks in Switzerland. I would like to go to Imola / Italy. You are going to track?

But when this year there is some Mitsu Car Meeting in Switzerland i will be there.
