SLVRNBLK's Operation "Black to White" - Project MJ build

Operation "Black" to "White" a.k.a Project MJ - COMPLETED!

Well, after three years I can finally say that Project MJ is initially done. I thought at one point this build would never end. To say everything went according to plan is literally comical. This project tested my patience in every way imaginable all the way up to the very end. Having a positive attitude was key in allowing me to overcome the set backs during the build process. Despite all the challenges, this project was actually fun to be a part of. I walked away with a new found appreciation and respect for these great machines.

Project MJ would have never happened without the help of a few certain individuals. These folks were there through the whole process and there's no way this project could have been done without them. HGMS facilitated the build and lead tech Alain Alba was responsible for every part on this project. His attention to detail and knowledge of Evo's (an Evo owner himself) ensured every nut and bolt was installed perfectly. It says a lot when every single bolt you see in the engine-bay is marked indicating it was torqued to spec. I consider Alain to be one of the best tech's around, I also consider him as a good friend!

Tom from TSCOMP TUNED was responsible for the tuning. I opted to go with Tom because I liked is approached to tuning and his results speak for themselves. I was a bit hesitant with remote tuning, but Tom made it extremely easy walking me through every step. His interactive process forces you to be involved and I liked that I had a little bit of a helping hand in the tuning process. Tom's ability to diagnose issues is amazing. During my initial tune he identified a fueling problem. He recommended a few minor changes. Eight months later (after dealing with other set-backs on this project) I connected with Tom again and we finalized the power tuning. Not once did he ask me any questions, nor had me pay for a new tuning session. We basically left off where we started eight months back. Tom always answered my e-mails, and in fact provided me a last minute water pump :mad: when I needed it. His customer service is incredible which says a lot about himself and his product. Thanks!

Enough of the rambling, here what you all been waiting for. Enjoy {thumbup}

It was really difficult to see my Black Evo in this condition. I ended up taking her to the local junk yard
where it was sold to this shady junk yard owner guy. Bye, bye..........

Car looks really good! What did the tune end up putting you at power wise?

Evo2372 May 11, 2014 05:40 AM

I really love this build of yours SLVRNBLK to be making an avg of 656whp on a basically stock exh manifold (BR fettled) is awesome to me. So stealthy.
Thanks for sharing all the pics of your transplant.

If you go back to the begining of the thread, you will see a link to the tuning results. Bacically, I'm a cam set away from 700 plus {thumbup}

Thank you, it was my pleasure to share this build with the community. My goal from the begining was to go the stealth/sleeper look :cool:
