$10,000? A quarter of the value of a new Evo X is wrapped up in the rear diff?

 

 

If u can believe the dealer, yes! I phoned my local dealer and asked for a price. He came back to me saying just the case alone is $7300.
Trying to look around for comparison didn't result in much except for people saying it wasnt worth replacing, just get a new car.

 

i got quoted for 3500 dollars fron 2 dealerships brand new and bought one with 7k miles for 1500.

 

I'd like to see the quotes or at least the dealers names so I could give them a call to check it out. I just priced it on what my dealer told me. That 3500 and 1500 sound like it was just for the diff it self and not the complete assembly, but I'd like to check it out.

 

One other thing, I will accept trades with a little cash for a rear complete Evo x mechanical plated diff with axles.

I've seen a dealership overprice lots of things. they requested $10000 for recaro seats last week.

so it's $3,446.95 for the rear diff and axles are $687.81 each.

so new price.

$2500 for the rear diff assemble by itself or

$3500 for diff plus both axles.

I worked through the math and have determined that $3500 is less then $10,000, so that's good.

Can we get a little info on why it was pulled, is this a part out? Any problems, etc.

and yes it is part of a larger part out. things are coming off the car slowly. as they come off i will post up.
