I figured it was an aftermarket one, not the stock LSD.

 

the stock EVO 9 helical is an awesome upgrade for EVO 8's that have the open diff that breaks easily.

It looks nothing like the wavetrac one man.

 

I am always worried about breaking my stock EVO VIII differential while at the drag strip. I assume this is by far a great upgrade and increases the safety factor, right?

Can you explain the technical aspect behind why having the ability to rotate both wheels at the same time is better for the drivetrain that having the ability not to? I am just trying to learn about the benefits of having an upgraded differential.

If you own an evo 8 and have an open front diff your car is NOT AWD....

You car is 3 three wheel drive.

It will cause your car to rotate upon wheel spin.

More understeer.

Slower launches.

Breaks easily.

Is a big piece of crap.
