Does anyone know if the sub will work with a car that wasn't equipped with the ssl package from the factory?
Are the plug-ins in the trunk for this to hook right up, or is there no hope at all?

I do know that the spare tire cover board and carpet are different in those cars. So you'd either have to cut yours, take it out, or get a new one(s). I don't think in the 03's they had that harness installed in the Evos. Because there was no SSL package for the 03's.
Pretty sure this is correct, there was a harness already ran to the trunk in the SSL evos, it's all infinity (stock head unit, speakers, sub). I woulnd't know how to make this work in a non SSL evo. Sorry.
You can bolt in a SSL sub in a 03. The holes are there for 2 out of 3 brackets and then you will need to trim the carpet to get it to slide over and cover the 3rd bracket.
I am in the process of doing this now, I have the sub installed and some of the wiring done but I am using an aftermarket radio and a 5 channel amp to drive all the speakers.
So it is not a bolt in solution unless you have an amp to drive the sub. But it does fit nice

Damn, thanks guys. I do have an aftermarket radio, but I don't have an amp. I was just wanting a little more sound without the loss of space.
Eh well, thanks again fellas.
Bump for something I wish I had, lol.
