Appears to me the Method 2 would be cleaner and sturdier.

Thanks javi! got my set a little bit ago, and already installed, very easy.

to everyone else, I would recommend using installation method #1. I tried method #2 first, but when the hood is closed they seemed to hit the hood and make the hood stick up a little. I had no issues with the hood closed using method #1
