wtb intercooler

looking to buy an aftermarket intercooler. I'm truly in the market for a used ams or bushur delux, but I might go for something else if the price is right.

Yesterday I saw a very good example of the quality of our intercooler and the core used to build it. One of our customers took out 3 mailboxes with his evo. Had to replace the front bumper, put a nice sized dent in the hood, and absolutly put a hurting on the AMS fmic. They brought it to the shop, the core has been pushed back by over an inch and pushed up from the bottom over an inch. The last row of outer fins and bottom plate is smashed all the way into the last internal row and the internal row is almost pushed up thru the next set of outer fits and almost touching the internal row about it. I thought for sure it would have to be replaced. We put a pressure tester and tested the entire system up to 20 lbs..........NO leaks at all. It took a hell of a hit and is still perfectly functionally usable, other than the physical damage.

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone selling a used AMS fmic. The only reason I've seen one up for sale is someone returning their car back to stock. Just save up a few bucks for a few weeks and go for the best, that way you get the best results.
