Exclamation Blown engine Help!!!!

Ok so last week I did my 93 IM swap and some where in the process I managed to drop a bolt inside my #2 cylinder which to me is hard to believe because I am very meticulous in the way that I work. But anyways I was driving and crash boom bang my car is done. I took it to the dealership before I knew what had caused it and now they want to charge me over 3k to fix a Lancer engine!!?? So I know that I can just build my engine or buy a new one for that price. They said the cylinder head is gone not fixable and the #2 piston is destroyed from impact with the cylinder head. What I need is to know if any of you guys are selling complete shortblocks or long blocks that I may be able to pick up let me know I either need that or a cylinder head and pistons and if I do pistons might as well do the rods too. I would have posted in the WTB or For sale forum but I dont have the post count (thats what I get for always watching and not partaking) So mods please move but dont delete!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds terrible.

I won't even ask WHY did you drive ........

Ebay should be your best friend now. You can find lots of cheap stuff there and don't forget about junk yards car-parts.com
And again if you need a block or something (i have no idea about) try summitracing.com

^^^ What he said, and what I already suggested to you . It's your best bet and there are a few available close to home (NJ and NC).

If you have to replace anyways I would be hunting for a Rallyart Engine/Tranny and ECU. Its a pretty easy swap and it would be worth it.
If you decide to stay OEM the 4G94's seem to be a dime a dozen these days and you should be able to find one quickly, if I happen to see one I will let you know.

If you are going to get one slap some pistons and rods in there. It should easier to do custom work on it once it will be out.

He doesn't have the money to do that kind of swap because he doesn't have the funds to buy my turbo kit. Ralliart engine costs $750 at the cheapest, then you need the tranny and ECU, so let's say about $1200 for parts, and that's an under-estimate.

Building the block would be a viable next step. The first step is to get the car running again. He can get a used short block and a used head (or a full engine), swap what's broken, and build the used block in the future.

He lives by me, well, kinda. He's in the DC area, Fort Belvoir Virginia.

There are nationwide junkyard databases that might get you the best prices. In the meantime...lemme see if I come across anything good.
