do you realise how complex those are to run? I wouldnt recommend it on a DD type car at all. They run off of compressed air to control boost and are a complete PITA to install and set-up.
I agree with everything said here. There are far too many easier options that work just as well. What is your reason for wanting to switch to the AMS 1000 specifically? Why not go with a good ECU boost setup. That will also have the gear dependent boost option among many others. It is very nice to have everything integrated to the stock ECU, if that is what you are still running.
Or here is another great option and as many feel it is the best...

If you have the stock ECU this is what you want.
-An OMNI 4-bar or JDM MAP sensor, capable of logging whatever boost levels you are going to be putting down on C16
- A GM-3 Port or the Tactrix unit is nice also, to control boost pressures via the ECU
- Dual Map Switch
- Tephra v7
With all of those you will be able to log boost pressures via the OBDII and EVOscan, the dual map can adjust the boost pressures and fuel automatically within the map that is loaded onto your car.
That is the ideal setup for a hands free fuel switching system. All you have to do is flip the switch and everything is automatically changed via the stock ECU.

The decision is yours and yours only to make or talk to your tuner and find out from him what you should do.
