3"inlet, 3" outlet - resonated test pipe for sale. It is SS304 polished, looks similar to a catayltic converter. You can expect substantial whp gains from the replacement of the stocker cat with one of these. It makes the exhaust tone smoother and mellower than a straight pipe type unit which will get you a lot of compliments. I purchased a few for some of the local evos and my personal car and have this one leftover. $85 shipped ($15 shipping incl)
Actually the opposite. It removes droning as it is resonates and cancels some sound which deepens and smooths the exhaust tones. It sounds great. The straight pipe test pipe units are the ones that drone.

Not trying to be negative here, just stating what I have seen. I would love to quieten down my exhaust just a hair but am really concerned about droning.
I also think your exhaust noise or lack of has little to do with the pipe and much to do with the catback type and muffler used.

Pipes designed to move the O2 sensor out of the stream of this polluted air keep the CEL from triggering, but you need to plug the old O2 sensor hole with those types.
A CEL fix is available that will not trigger the CEL and is a 5 min install can be added for $15 shipped. You will not have to plug any additional O2 sensor bungs this way.
