Yes, ACD is active center differential. The problem is, cars with it sometimes have clearance issues with certain DP's. MR's have the ACD, and they also have HID's. What's your question?

You know, 8's and 9's both have an MR trim..... so you saying you have an 8 means...... that you have an 8. RS? GSR? MR?

The thing is Perrin came out with a redisgned version that fits newer models, thats what your friend probably has. I bought this like year and half ago. It fits really well on my car.

oh yeah sorry forgot to mention......ummm guess its base 8? not an MR..GSR...or RS...called the straight 8 on magazines....and a quick question...something under the car sounds like a coin is going trough a pipe...or a coin in a bottle....THE HELL IS IT?...mind u i have a stock cat on a downpip and a catback...my test pip comes in thursday...im hoping its the stock cat thats causing all that damn noise? somebody correct me if another answer is around....oh the thing my dealership told me...was...u can get the hid/soundsystem/leather for 3 grand option...i was like **** that....i can get a sound system/hid kit....for less...so i did...dont need a sun roof or cold leather seats, they said our cars rather 04/03 had to give up the water cooler sprayer to make room for the acd controls on the engine bay, i told them, id rather have the acd>sprayer anyday

So you don't know what you drive. Sounds to me like you have a GSR.

I think your rattling is coming form an exhaust part hitting the undercarriage or a suspension part. Why not jack your car up *safely* turn it on, and figure out where the sound is coming from?

oh tried it fluid...my only guess is...cause im on a stock cat? i have the down pipe and cat back...but im still on a stock cat...my test pipe should come in tomorow, i trow it on and hope it doesnt rattle at high speed idles....anybody rode a 3in exause with a stock cat on? and i though the gsr nose was all black grill...with a single mitsubishi sign in the middle...mine has the hood meeting with the bumber down the middle ill post pictures

Might be the stock cat. Maybe it's disintegrating and ratling inside

yeah thats what im thinking i think im taking the stock cat to hell and back...sounds really bad...anyway i hope it IS JUST THAT....and not something major.....also have to swap out a strut...blew one today...crap just happens i guess....ill keep u posted though....ill get to the BOTTOM of the sound

It could be a connection from any piece of the exhaust system to any other piece.... what kind of gaskets did you use? Is everything tightened to spec? Are there any hangars hitting metal?

...no hangers hitting metal....gasgets came with the exhaust..plus one of my guys who installed it used "the right stuff" as an extra sealent...its an orange sealent....im aware that it might b the connection between parts...tightned to spec? i mean dont overtighten or leave it loose right? didnt know there was certain psi we had to hit on the air drill/gun...MOSTLY THE DAMN STOCK CAT...since everything else is 3in diameter and the cats not...so something might not b aligned on the cat...thats getting removed soon...oh btw, it only does that noise like 25-30 mins after driving....when its hot...so im with ur thought that the cats disintegrating or melting or breaking or something...basicaly its getting ***ked up...no wories as long as nothing else messes up...like i said fluid1 ill keep u posted buddy seems we got offtopic from the main post...sorry i apreciate the concern though...thats why i like this forum everybody helping everybody even now and then somepoeple bump heads
