People might not want to bid on something without a specific date as to when the bidding ends. For example: If bidder A puts in a bid of $250 tonight and nobody else puts in a bid for like 15 days from tonight, would that mean that bidder A wins?

Just my .02 and bump for you as well.

Great .02. I didnt want to put an exact date, cuz i didnt want kids try to go ebay style and all try to out bid each other at the end. I just figured when the bids stop coming in, the item would go to the highest bidder. In your example, yes, if theres no bids for 15 days, the highest bidder would get it.

Have you ever even been to an auction??

It does work like that. Definition of an English (normal style) auction..

"Participants bid openly against one another, with each bid being higher than the previous bid. The auction ends when no participant is willing to bid further"

Auction weren't created by Ebay.
