FS: 4" aluminum exhaust system

Selling my custom made 4" 6061 aluminum exhaust system. The system starts right at the rear subframe of the engine bay and goes under the rear diff area where is has a vband connection to the muffler section. The rear muffler section is 4" 304SS that shortly leads into a 4" Burns muffler. Please realize that without a doubt you are going to need to get your current downpipe integrated to this exhaust, nothing about it is meant to be a bolt on deal concerning getting it connected to a downpipe other than the one that was on my car when the exhaust was fabricated. That downpipe however was used for a GT42R kit which is being sold and that downpipe is going with the turbo kit.

The Burns muffler alone is almost $300 new, Id like $450+s&h for the whole system. Let me know if you have any questions.

i thought aluminum was a bad material to make a exhaust.

It's also a bad material for rods compared to steel but you have o sacrifice for weight savings some times Get those pics up.

yeah, why would you make an aluminum exhaust? even though its lighter, performance wise its not the best choice. i'd rather have a steel exhaust that keeps the heat in and produces more power.

aluminum exhaust

i am going to suggest that this is quite probably alumanized tubing (lots of diesel trucks use 4 and 5 inch aluminized exhaust) this is not stainless steel but steel with a thin aluminum coating.i cant say for sure. aluminum would not hold up at all in an exhaust system.by the way aluminum rods are great but they are hugely beefy and not the best choice for anything but a race motor that gets regularly torn down, inspected and rebuilt.

WTF? Have you ever run an open downpipe on your Evo (or any turbocharged car)?

If you had, you'd realize how much more power you can make with no exhaust at all to "keep the heat in and produce more power."

Why do you think they make exhaust cutouts for racing?

lol, uh this is definitely aluminum. Its not alum coated crap, I bought 6061 4" aluminum which is not cheap. The 4" alum vband clamp kits arent cheap either. You can definitely use aluminum for an exhaust system, I wouldnt use it for a downpipe but the exhaust is fine.

People have been using aluminum for exhausts for a long time now. If youve ever tried to pick up a 4" stainless exhaust you know how terribly heavy it is. I can hold this whole pipe in one hand with my arm fully extended, thats how light it is.
