2003 evo 8 tranny $575 needs bell housing !!!
I would be weary about doing business with this seller. I paid for a tranny three weeks ago and still dont have it. He took his time shipping it. Did a poor job of packaging so fedex sent it back to him. Then he took his sweet time again getting it shipped out a second time. not even sure its on the way because he hasnt supplied me with a tracking number yet.
With a seller like this I wont be surprised to find more damage with the tranny than just a bell housing. Its obvious this guy is selling parts from salvage yard. broken bell housing means these trannies are from wrecked cars. If the bell is broken how would he be able to confirm it shifts good???

I am pretty ticked off with your post, let me tell you something i have sold maybe three of these transmissions in the last year all with busted bell housings and i have never had anyone report any problems with the trannys. look at my feedback i think that speaks for itself, and some where through out the feedback is positive feedback for trannys bought with broke bell housings.
as for fed ex messing the box up, how am i suppose to help that ? i packed that thing like you it was an egg but its heavy and the box got messed up so they sent it back its standard procedure.
i then had to build a crate for it which took me two hours so this would not happen again sorry that did not happen over night took me two days to get it resent fed ex ground tracking number is at the top of this post !
