Are the CDI's that much better? The technical threads I found here about the differences just link to the vendor page which of course says the more expensive one is better.

With my limited mods I want to simply improve driveability and mileage. Is there really a mileage difference between the non-cdi and basic cdi system? I understand most are worried more about blowout and power gains. Until I upgrade the turbo and get a built block I'm tinkering with mileage mods.

Would I be better off with a non-cdi and just amp it? Sorry to ask here but these questions aren't really answered and I don't want to bump year old+ threads.
