I noticed that my housing had that same crack in it when I put my new manifold on. Must have been a casting flaw of some kind.

No it's not a casting flaw. It's from heat. This is the only spot in mine. I have been running this housing for 40k miles+. It will still work, but companies like FP won't use housings like this when rebuilding to an upgrade.
