I have a first gen and timing belt broke.....In removing the valve cover there is a bearing that sits on top of the valve and then cam pushes it down. All my intake ones are broke or off.

My question is what r these officialy called I looked on chiltons and they do not name or list them

Wrong section, but I'm assuming you mean the rocker arm. And btw your valves are warped for sure if the rocker is off + the broke timing belt.

 

There are a possibility of things...valve keepers, cam caps,rockers, springs and retainer. Give us a picture because from what you are describing, it sounds like cam caps.

 

PIc is bugged but from lft to rt is 3rd one still attactched all rest off laying around the head

 

Those are rockers.

 

Overreved is my bet.
