Cosworth EVO 8 Cylinder Head<---price dropped

I bought it from AMS. It was on their shop car prior to the design of their AMS CNC Head. It will need a rebuild. Springs, retainers, valves, seals ect should be replaced. I went back to stock since I did not have the money to rebuild this head at the time. There are some burrs on edges of some parts ( a rocker arm came off due to detonation and bounced around) I received it this way from AMS and used it for about six months. It will need new retainers at a minimum. Dont let the minor cosmetic damage or the cracked retainers fool you. This is the real Deal Cosworth head from AMS' shop car and they made 1000+whp with it. You can call them and ask them. I bought it in 2008 from AMS with that damage. How do I know what happened? Detonation also blew the rocker arm off the hydraulic lifter in my stock head and it bounced around in there too. I now have that head, rebuilt, on the car.

There was never any contact between the valves and the pistons.

I dont make the money I used to back in 2008 so this needs to go. For comparison I paid $2000 for the honda I now drive. Selling this head is a must for me. I lowered the price and I know this is a smoking deal even with needing a rebuild. Plus you can keep your core as a backup (which is what I did) You never know when you will need it or want it. Take advantage now.

Anyways....$1800.00 OBO + shipping (let me know your zip when you purchase and i'll add the correct rate). You hot tank it and replace what needs done. Brand new these run $4200 easy. Plus no taxes on this expensive item. Just traded the evo. No need for this anymore. I have more pics available.....just IM me and I will email them to you. This is also listed on ebay. Just took me a while to redo the pics with a label and date. I used to be a mod on here. My build was fully documented. Search my user name to find more pics from back then. Thanks.

From the website.....
Cosworth CNC ported cylinder heads feature dyno tested and flow bench proven ports, engineered for maximum usable power. Each new cylinder head is ported on a 5 axis machine to ensure consistency and perfect port shape every time. Additionally, larger intake (+1mm) and exhaust valves (+1mm) are utilized to help increase flow. Cosworth CNC ported Big Valve cylinder heads come complete with a performance valve job, hi rev (max 10,500rpm) valve springs with titanium retainers and are ready to install. Perfect for high performance applications

dont be scared. new retainers do not cost much compared to a fully built head. the ports are fine on this head. the valves are fine. minor work needed . make me an offer!

I've been looking for a built head recently, and stumbled across yours.

I'm gonna be that guy and ask why someone would pay $2600 + shipping for a ported head that needs a FULL rebuild, that's not even in the best shape? There's been Buschur Stage 3 heads in better shape that literally go for a third of the price.

Not being a jerk, I'm just trying to figure out where your pricing is coming from, as I'm sure many others are as well.

cosworth is known to be overpriced... you might have better luck trying to sell this on a uk evo forum or something.
