I didn't look through all the pages.
Was there a leak down or compression test?

No and No. No need to perform either test on a brand new motor. Besides it performed flawlessly on the dyno after the break-in period. No worries

will this work with an oem MIVEC head? if so, what would need to be modified if going from an OEM IX engine to this? timing gears? water pump mod?

I'm not sure what you are asking so if I dont answer your question just let me know. Its a complete motor so I'm not sure why you would need a mivec head.

If you are referring to the block only, of course it will work with a mivec head without any modifications that I know of. It still retains the 4G63 block so the water pump will remain the same.

If you want to put the entire motor in an Evo IX then I am not sure what else you may need. At the point it wont be a mivec motor so you may not have to utilize additional harnesses (idk) and/or may need some sort of ecu modification. I suggest hit up one of the guru's on the board or try a search to see what will need to be done to put an non-mivec motor in an Evo IX. LMK

He needs a way to oil feed the mivec. This block will work, but you will have to tap the main oil galley and get a oil feed line from MAP to make it work. It is very simple, esp with the motor out of the car.

Few threads on it.

Hey man it's Kuruma off EvoA! As you remember I blew my motor at Road Atlanta 6 months ago...with tax return money I've been looking for a replacement engine. I don't have the capital for the long block, but I'm curious about the short block and any other goodies for the track. Shoot me a PM, no rush.

Cheers,

Craig
