FS: Siezed 2005 4g63 Evo Engine $1,500

Located in Seattle, WA.

As the title states, for sale is a seized 4g63 engine with 50k on it out of a 2005 evolution 8. I have no idea what is wrong with it, only that it is seized from my mechanic and will not turn over.

Price is 1500 OBO. Can negotiate price if shipping is required out of state. Text is best.

Great for someone making their own build.

Just a heads up. I'm not super active anymore and I no longer even have my evo, but considering you can usually find running long blocks for ~2k, you may want to reconsider your price. It's going to be hard to sell as it is considering you have no clue what is wrong with it.
Good luck!

Thanks bro for the honesty, but I asked on these forums before posting a price for the engine and this was the suggested price. I've never seen a working low mileage engine for 2k. And I've recently looked a lot of places. But it is or best offer so if someone wants it they can give me a price.

bump for you. I think your price is not too bad. I have seen a 4g63 with a spun rod bearing sell for $1500.

I have a running 4g63 with 104k miles on it and I have been offered $2000 for it.

These 4g63 engines are becoming hard to find so prices are high. Supply and demand my friend.

a spun bearing is an easy fix compared to what could be wrong with a locked motor... what is a valve dropped and scarred the block, cracked the piston, bent a rod, and damaged the head? it takes something to lock a motor.... something bad... so without knowing what is actually wrong nobody can say whether or not this is a good deal...

take off the valve cover and the oil pan... post a decent pic of each and we can go from there...

Does the mechanic that told you this "Specialize" in working with Evos, or he is just a regular car/shop mechanic? If so you may want to get a second opinion...

He should be able to tell you way more than the motor is just "locked". Did you run over a puddle & soak up water? (long shot) Was the motor blown or knocking and then you brought it to him to look at it? i am sure there are a handful of people who are interested in this but we need more information.....it will only help your sale.

Yea he is just a regular mechanic and I received the engine blown from another owner and he lied to me saying it was not bad..(Ironically changed his phone number as well).. But I will open up the engine with another friend of mine that builds cars and post pics oil pan and valve cover.

Ok you bought the motor blown.. so the mechanic confirmed what you knew already or you were trying to get it fixed with him? Just want to make sure you dont (unintentionally) sell a motor that cant be saved here....by the facts we have now it sounds like it might be alot worse than the OP suggests....let us know once you pull apart the head it will answer a ton of questions & will help you with a possible sale or partout if the damage is really bad.

P.S did you buy that motor from a member on EvoM ?

i didn't know it was blown, the douche bag original owner ,he said he swears it works..but when my mechanic tried to manually crank it after I bought it and brought it to him..it didnt work?? So he sent me a text saying your motor is siezed. I told my friend who builds motors and stuff so we are going to make time, go to the mechanic and open it up. I'll take those pics and post here. I'm not trying to rip anyone off, nor would I want to sell a bad product. I've already stated its seized and so not to deceive anyone as I just got taken for a ride and know how that feels.
