FS: Evolution 8 5-speed transmission - Like New!
For sale is a Evo 8 5-speed transmission that was previously a shep trans stage 1 built transmission. It has been COMPLETELY refreshed, by myself, with an additional upgrade.
The transmission has been completely rebuilt with the following parts replaced.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Reverse bronze synchronizers
- 1st/2nd and 5th/Reverse gear sleeve
- 3rd/4th shift fork.
- 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse gears. These gear replacements alone cost $550)
- 1st thru reverse synchronizer springs

The synchro’s installed were the updated bronze synchro’s, which will last longer than the factory provided brass synchro’s. The 1st and 2nd gear in the transmission were in like new condition and did not have any wear to them
Also, the input shaft bearing has been upgraded to the tapered bearing. The stock roller bearing tends to fail as it cannot handle the thrust load. These tapered bearings will not fail!

The transmission has also been properly shimmed and adjusted for minimal play.
Finally, the transmission casing has been glass beaded, giving it a look better than new.

It has stock evo 8 gear ratio’s, which is the same as the ultimate ratio transmission, without the evo 9 longer first gear. I had that longer first gear on my car, and really didn't notice much of a difference. In fact, I am back to the evo 8 first gear ratio.
Looking to get $2,200 shipped through Fedex Ground. I accept paypal payments, but the payment must be verified and shipped to the confirmed address on the account.
