FS: Freshly built Evo 8 shortblock
FS: Freshly built Evo 8 shortblock
1. Built Evo 8 short block
JE A-symmetrical pistons
Oliver billet I-beam rods
ACL bearings
SS O-ringed block
ARP hardware
This short block has 0 miles on it.
Parts balanced to within .1 gram, Oil clearances are .0025/.0025 rod/main, .0050PTW clearance. 10:1 Compression
All tolerances are within .0002 of one another
I spent a ton of time and money building this short block. I had my local machine shop punch out the block .20 with my torque plate, align hone the mains, and install stainless steel o-rings around the cylinders. The crankshaft is a stock OEM, turned .010 under and zero balanced. The pistons and rods have been balanced to within .1 gram of one another. Basically perfection, the way it would come from any reputable engine builder.
This engine was originally a Buschur aluminum LR Shortblock, that spun main bearings for one reason or another. I bought a new crankshaft, new connecting rods, new pistons. I cleaned the entire engine inside and out. My machine shop inspected, repaired, and machined the block as required. What you are essentially looking at is a brand new engine.
I built this for an evolution I once owned, I expected to make 800HP on a MD. I chose to keep it simple, a standard rod length, steel rod engine for longevity sake. The Oliver rods and a-symmetrical pistons are still quite light - I do not see any reason why this engine couldn't run 9000RPM.
Includes L19 head studs - Asking $3000 NO CORE shipping not included, but available. Block is located in Buffalo, NY.
