[FS] Carbonetics Twin Carbon clutch
Carbonetics Twin Carbon clutch
Can anyone who's run one of these speak to its characteristics?
- Drivability, consistent engagement?
- Driveline noise? Does it sound like loose marbles under decel?
- Approximate life under your conditions?
- Anything to know about converting to push from pull?
I've got a CC stage 2 and it's not working for me. While it holds my meager power fine and handles track days, the engagement is grabby / shutters the car, plus it's noisy as hell under decel. I can only imagine all the vibes are wearing out the driveline at an accelerated rate.

The clutch is being sold for the price of almost one carbon disc ($700)... If I had seen this before I bought replacement parts I would've purchased it.
That being said, you can get replacement parts from a few vendors. I would recommend ATS Services from Japan. Carbonetics no longer exists and all of there parts are sourced. If you need anything that is related to this clutch; you can call them and they will get you what you need.

As for the clutch itself, I love it... It will last forever because of the carbon discs (unless you abuse your clutch daily). Oh, I also forgot to mention that if you don't want the expensive carbon discs, ATS also has the cheaper ceramic discs as well. Im currently running just under 400ft/lbs of torque 500Hp and it holds well. On the website its rated at 670hp so it should hold well for your application if its within the parameters.
The only con that I can point out is the noise of the clutch... It does have the rattling marble sound, but aside from that, It feels great on the foot.
Overall: if your looking for a good clutch for a steal. Consider this one as an option.

CMAX, Id recommend posting specs on the discs as far as the life of them. Use a micrometer at least on 4 points of the disc. The factory specs are at 3.9mm... You shouldn't measure anything less than 2.0 mm for continued use.
Good luck and Bump for awesome clutch!!

Wow, lots of activity over the weekend.
The damage you see is from a bolt being seized/stripped and my tuner clearly had some trouble removing the bolt. It's cosmetic damage.. I know it bothers me a little bit too, but it still works fine.
I guess I could.. I'd have to go buy a micrometer though and the wear discs is so minimal it would be kind of pointless. If someone really wants some pictures of the discs being measured I will measure them. I've only had one person who really seemed interested. They wanted the discs measured and I said I would if they were actually serious about buying the clutch. That's when the texts stopped coming back... lol. So, I guess the clutch is just going to sit, but the longer it sits there the more likely I will just keep it.
