Ya I have a test pipe as well. I guess I'm a bit paranoid because saw a guy pulled over this morning and the CHP was looking under his hood.

 

Cut the rusty crappy heat shield off your oem cat and have a it tack welded around your test pipe. If done right, it won't rattle and you can tell the cop who looks under your car that you need to replace your catalytic converter instead of him seeing a straight test pipe. That's a 25 dollar fix it ticket vs a state ref ticket/return back to stock.
