did the compressor blades start rubbing against the housing? what exactly is wrong with it?

vigilante.zen Apr 26, 2012 12:32 PM

Yes the wheel touched the housing. The turbo is still on the car but I wasnt in boost but like 1 pound or so I dont think damage is really bad.

Levar May 1, 2012 06:32 PM

My friend, have you considered sending it back to be rebuilt? So the housing and turbine wheel are the only parts damaged?

stinkbomb May 1, 2012 07:14 PM

pm me your best price!

vigilante.zen May 1, 2012 07:18 PM

I have considered doing that... just weighing my options now

vigilante.zen May 1, 2012 07:20 PM

As far as I know yes. Not sure of internals not disassembling turbo. Its actually still on the car and should be pulled out this weekend.

Anarchy99 May 2, 2012 08:46 AM

Some turbos cannot be rebuilt so you should probably send it to forced performance to find out what's wrong with it first or if it can even be rebuilt. Before someone gets a paperweight

vigilante.zen May 3, 2012 04:46 PM

Why couldn't it be rebuilt? I have had turbos rebuilt by them before. With the same exact problem. I don't want to send it back.... I have a new turbo... This would be a good deal for someone... If I wanted to send it in I probably would have done so....

Anarchy99 May 3, 2012 05:31 PM

I just sent a buddies turbo to FP and they said its not repairable and he has to buy a new one. It would probably save both a prospective buyer and yourself a lot of headache to have it checked out first. Unfortunately for my friend, his FP black is worth zero dollars.

vigilante.zen May 3, 2012 05:51 PM

Why would it save me a headache im selling it broken... Go highjack someone elses thread brah

cheb evo May 3, 2012 06:05 PM

+1 Anarchy99. It would save you the headache of dealing with someone that you screwed over by allowing them to buy a turbo that cannot be rebuilt.
