Spark Tech Sponsored Nemo-racing.com WINS 2012 WORLD TIME ATTACK

What an amazing feat this was. Owner Chris Eaton/Nemo-racing built this car and set his sights at winning this coveted race. It has been dominated by Sierra Sierra Evo and Cyber Evo for years. To build an Evo from the ground up soley for the purpose of domination takes lots of knowledge, Expertise and well of course MONEY

An engine failure a couple weeks back put serious questions if they would be ready since the car is brand new and needed the valuable data for chassis setup and tweaking. They were going to be up against the Cyber Evo as Sierra Sierra wasn't planning on making it this year. The Cyber Evo has had years of race data so technically they had a huge advantage.

Fast forward to Friday 9th August, Day 1 of WTAC...Nemo racing goes out and resets the lap record from 2011 WTAC winner Cyber Evo driven by Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada, Mitsubishi Evo 9,1:28.8510
Nemo set the pace by running an astounding 1:25.74

That car is absolutely amazing on every level. It's beautiful, and insanely fast. It's even my desktop wallpaper right now... that being said I expect this is the last year tube frame cars will be allowed in the same class as production frame cars. I don't think a car like Sierra Sierra, Cyber Evo, etc has a chance against a tube frame car weighing under 2000 lbs. Amazing time though, and obviously a tremendous piece of engineering and driving.

If I'm not mistaken the course was different from 2011 to 2012. Not drastically, but different. Either way it is an amazing car and an amazing feat. Looking forward to the speed it will gain with some real development time.

According to this article: http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...t-by-how-much/ the track is supposedly only 0.3-0.5s faster than last year.

Nice results. Looking at this artical:

http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...om-down-under/

He says it has 800 HP and a 1:1 HP ratio. Anyone else find it hard to believe that thing weights 800 lbs?

duh, that makes sense.

800 lb = 1760 lbs, that's crazy light!

800 whp= 1000hp to engine with drivetrain loss...1000 kg =2200lbs definitely right...serious power...really light...and incredible downforce...don't know a production time attack car that can beat it right now...wait till it's dialed in...car will break records every where it goes...
