EVO 8 Cranks, but does not start.
Okay, first off I would like to say that I hope everyone is having a great day.
Now, let's start with my issue with my lovely EVO 8 that has a rebuilt engine that my father and I just installed. Everything in attached, as well as new crank and cam sensors. I put in a new fuel pump, as well as injectors. I'm thinking that since everything is brand new, might just run fine... But no.. The car does not start, so I even disabled the immobilizer, still didn't solve it. I'm getting spark with my spoolin up coil pack and also fuel to the pistons.. What I did notice is that my car cranks really slow, even with a new battery.. I was wondering if it can be a starter problem or power distribution to it that will cause it, but I'm not sure that'll effect it. I am also get compression numbers of 30-35 on the cylinders. I put oil through the spark plug holes and still no start. I also checked the ignition switch and it checks out fine.. I also even did the timing according the the manual, so I'm assuming that timing is not the issue.. I feel like I've done almost everything and still no solution. Help is really needed, thank you!!

Check to see if the cam angle sensor is 180 degrees off.

Thank you for the reply So the bracket on the cam should be big plate down and little up, if I searched correctly? I'm going to give it a try once I get back home.

Holy ****, that diagram is gold. I checked, it was definitely off, so hopefully when I put everything together it will run. I have to go to work now, but I'll keep you posted, thank you so much!!

I hope this is just a typo.
I would check voltage at the battery then at the starter. Key on engine off, then report back. Maybe there is a break somewhere not allowing the current to flow.
I would also double check timing. Could be turning slow because the pistons are hitting the valves. Did you turn the motor over by hand after timing it? Roughly 6-8 cycles. Roughly 20 crank rotations.

All voltage seems to be fine. I really think it's a timing issue. Lol. I actually did mean what I said, I did a compression test and got low numbers, the highest was 35. That's why I think after the help that it might be a timing issue. I did unplug injectors and spark plugs after timing to break everything in with oil. Hopefully this cam angle timing will get it to live once again. Lol. I'll keep you guys posted, thank you guys.

Well guys it started up just fine. Just letting out some white smoke, but slowly went away, must be because of cold start. I found out that the cam gears I had were timed wrong because I lined it up with a wrong mark, due to them being aem adjustable cam gears with two holes and marks. As well as the cam position sensor degree was off
Thank you guys so much, I truly appreciate it!!!!!
