Anybody has suggestion for this cold AFR swing?

Looking for some advice, trying to dial in my FIC 1120cc injectors on e85. LTFT Low is between -4% and -5%, LTFT Mid is around +3%. Low has always been negative, and Mid always positive, and I'm not sure how to bring them both closer to zero.

Current tune:

Injector scaling is set for 790

Latency:
V
4.69 3.432
7.03 1.968
9.38 1.344
11.72 0.936
14.06 0.912
16.41 0.648
18.68 0.648

I've been moving the numbers down from 11.72V and under to bring LTFT Low up, and I've been moving the number up from 14.06V and up to bring LTFT Mid down. Now as you can see 11.72V and 14.06V are super close together. Am I going about this the right way? What should I be changing to get these numbers closer to 0?

Try these latencies and just +/- .024 from all of them at the same time to bring LTFT closer.

When my LTFTs where off, cruise was in the negatives and idle was in the positives, I would just increase all of them by .024. That worked great to bring them closer. I never did what you did and adjust them individually. I maintained the stock curve and been meaning to adjust 12v and under by disconnecting the alternator but it runs great the way it is.

Put those scalings back in and decrease all of them until 14v is .888

So you're saying I should change my injector scaling? If so, to what? the 975 or the 665?

No sorry change the latency. You will adjust scaling as neccasary but after you get your LTFTs.

I'm sorry, but this seems confusing to me. By changing the latency values to what you posted before, I would be back at square one when I first put in e85 and at that point my fuel trims were not good. LTFT Low was like -12.5%, Mid was at like +10%. I have been adjusting these values to bring fuel trims closer to 0. So again, it seems that by moving the latency values back to where they were, my fuel trims would again be wrong.

Additionally, by changing the injector scaling value, that will also affect fuel trims. So why would I just the scaling after my fuel trims were dialed in?

I'm simply saying to start over. I don't understand why you raised the 14v if you were negative in the low trims and positive on the mids. If it's that way you would decrease latency. And for now I would adjust all latency at the same rate so +/- .024. I think messing with them individually is causing you the headache.

Anyone got some decent scaling/latency values for the RC1600 injectors?
I've been having a hard time calibrating them on a Motec M800 ECU, I'm going to give it a shot on a stock ECU.

Thanks man! I did exactly that. I started over with those latency values you posted. I got the low trim to like -6%, and mid to just about 0%. So I dropped all values -0.048 (0.024 x 2) and now my low is about -1%, but the cruise trim is at +9%. I'm going to wait and drive it home to see if the mid drops because the idle trim only adjusted from like -5% to -1% at the end of my drive to work today. If I remember correctly, the mid trim is calculated from the low or is dependent on it somehow, right? Does this sound right?

I have not done E85 yet, but very soon. I am going to start with 1170 for my scaler. I'll try to remember to update after I dial it in.

Latencies are NOT a fixed number
There's an opening delay, there's also a closing delay, it's the difference between the two.

There's 3 things that affect latency.
Nobody seems to mention them, no doubt because they don't actually understand.

1/ is the injector its self.
2/ is the circuitry used to drive the injector.
3/ is the fuel pressure.
The numbers are ALWAYS wrong. Fuel pressure makes a big difference.

No 1 is easy, you just google it.
No 2, well if google says that the results come from a Motec and you're using a Mitsubishi computer, the numbers won't be the same.
No 3 is what nobody mentions....There should be always EXACTLY 3 bar pressure across the injector.

You go fit a bigger pump, hotwire it, your idle fuel pressure is always too high (outflowing the regulator) so not only does it run too rich at low load (fuel trims pegged out) but the pressure varies with electrical load (voltage).....but you don't know because either you don't measure the pressure or if you do........you try to convince yourself that it's correct when it's NOT.
