New PNW EVO X FE owner

Hello everyone! Just picked up a 2015 EVO FE this weekend. Went from a 2011 IS350 to the EVO. I missed having a MT in my life. I feel like I made the right decision. I am in the PNW - WA. Wouldn't mind getting to know some of the other local EVO enthusiasts in the area.

I approve your choice!

Just be sure to get mudflaps and clear bra wrap when you are able.

Maybe mudflaps. But I will pass on the clear bra wrap for now... unless I can be convinced. Had it on the IS and while it did protect the front end, it did start to fade in color and I wondered how it would affect the paint over time. It also collected dirt along the edges of the clear bra.

I do not have a clear bra I don think its worth it. The only noticeably rock chips i have gotten have been high on the hood near the windshield wipers and on the roof believe it or not. I heard somewhere the paint is thicker on the FEs and I do believe that is true

Did you like the looks? Does it scuff over speed bumps or driveways?

Yeah. It was probably going to cost $1000+. I think there are pros and cons to it. I just decided this time that I wasn't going to get the bra. It kind of bugged me a little with the discoloration of the bra. It was good on my previous car because there was a lot of construction on I405 at the time and there were many rocks along the way. Probably saved the front end on that. I405 is mostly done for where I commute so I think I should be ok for now. IF the paint is thicker, then I am good with that!

They bothered me at first, but I don't really notice them anymore. Never had any problems at stock height. Look up Rally Armor.

Nice man. Where at in WA? The roads around Mt. Ranier are great for a fun drive, if you're in the area.

Yeah I want to do a drive. Still in the "Break in" period. I've heard two schools of thought regarding break in. Smash on it or baby it. Right now, I have been baby-ing it. It's got about 38 miles so far.

The sticker price on the EVO went for ~$37K. I wish the interior would match this pricing

Very nice, I just got the exact same car a little over a month ago! And definitely do what this gentleman said - I've just got both of them done myself. Your options for mudflaps are either Rally Armor (cheap), or the OEMs, which I think look infinitely better but are expensive. If that's important to you, check the Mitsubishi accessories website and scroll down to the bottom - there should be a 10% off coupon that you can use (says expires 08/01, but they've had the same coupon updated each month for the last 3 months).

Anywho, welcome to the club of MG color FE's!
