Hi guys I have a FE with those terrible lancer seats I've looking online to buy used recaros but they are usually in pretty bad shape and still very expensive! So I was thinking of getting some really beat up ones even some with blown airbags which are really cheap and I could get them upholstered to look brand new again.. has anyone here ever done that? And what's the usual cost of that?

Around here you can get a basic, fabric seat upholstery job for $5-600/seat. You're probably best off being patient and finding the cleanest set you can afford. If you decide to upholster, you should ask to see an example of the shops work as upholstery is an art and quality will vary shop-to-shop. Expect to get what you pay for!

That is what i did on mine, did front and back to match the jDM or CDM one.

It was that or import a Canada FE or buy the 2014 Seats from dealership. New from Dealership $12,500 with discount. US Import Tax for the Canadian FE around $8,000 last time i check maybe less since the dollar was in our favor back then.

2014 Seats in excellent condition $1,200, someone here is selling them for $850.

then do this to the front and back $1,300.

at the end Recaro Leather with Red Stitch front and back $2500.

for me was a better deal.

at the end i still think importing one from Canada was better option, my only concern was warranty but a friend told me as long as i can find a good mitsubishi dealership they can give me the warranty.
