Removing The Hood Prop Is A PITA

My god this is hard to remove. Am i missing something? I am bending, twisting, pulling, yanking, rotating the damn rod and still it doesn't unhook from the hook!

Is their a special way to remove the damn hood prop? Their needs to be a video!! Its a PITA.

A little bit of silicone spray on the grommet and mine came out pretty easily with a little twisting.

Honestly I didn't even notice the grommet. I think I will just pop that off.

the end of it is bent into two 90 degree angles so turn it towards the windshield and then twist it out towards the passenger side and pull. if you stick a flashlight under where its hooked you can see what im talking about.
