Will an OEM size 235/45/17 tire fit on a 17x9 wheel? I could care less if I've not increased the rubber patch. I want the rims themselves to look a little more flush with the body.

Yes, a 17x9 wheel can accept the following tires sizes (235-265)

I certainly see what you like, youre more on the stance fit & Im way over on the aggressive function side.

Have you gone through the Stance thread in show/shine? It has a lot of examples of what can be done in that style

Many of the wheel/tire guys on EvOM dont agree w/some of the setups in that thread, but there are some examples that are a nice combination of form & function

Almost all the RPF1s need a spacer except the +18 version or their high offset +38. Heres a thread that confirms the front spacer need:

Running a 245/40 should fit w/out the need to roll but you may have to run some additional rear camber not to exceed -1.8 degrees

I'm really thinking trying to keep the car stock without rolling or spacers but pushing the rubber out to the max I can use. So I'm thinking a set of RPF1 17x8.5 +30. But, how far with rubber can I go without rubbing ie 245/40 245/45 or 255/40?

 

I'd like to get a deal with rims and tires at the same time and I am thinking hankook Rs3's which I know like a slightly bigger rim hence the 8.5.

 

+30 is at the point where a roll would be necessary even at the 8.5" width. I always note to most guys, that rolling is almost a necessity. I understand the need to keep everything pristine, but a good roll really cant be seen & helps w/running the lower offset wheels & wide rubber

Have you looked at the 5zigen FN01R? 17x9 +35. Now that wheel could be run w/out a roll!!! (still recommend a roll) (depending on tire size). See example below

 

What companies work the Aus area? Looks like you need a TireRack type of business for a wheel/tire combo

 

Here's my Evo VII with 17x8.5 +30 RPF1's and 235/45/17 tires. The fit is spot on with -1.5 camber all around and a mild drop on BC coilovers. Front is totally fine as is the rear but if it was lowered more it would be close. I think the 245/255 would need the rear rolled unless you went really aggressive on the camber.

Great thanks That's exactly what I am looking for, I have a spare set of 235/45 track tires to set it up at the start so I'll check the clearances and when I wear those out I might take a chance and go with 245/40 rubber. I am at stock height so hopefully will fit

 

we get ripped on everything down here and for anything over a grand on the net we pay extra tax on it. So it defeats ordering from tire rack

 

Looking for the right size tire for a set of street wheels I have. 18x9 +25 Rota G-force. I confirmed the fitment and get no rubbing on the 225 45 18 that were mounted when I got them, confirmed on coilovers and MR Bilsteins with Swifts. They also clear the front Brembo without issue.

Tires maybe have 2k on them, I never intended to run that tire anyway but were included in the sale however funny thing is though they don't look stretched on the wheel at all, they def don't corner on their sidewalls like other silliness I've seen, but either way they're cracking something terrible prob from not using them or **** federal tires who knows.

Not looking to do much if any fender work at all the rear quarters in my car are factory flawless and I don't know or trust anyone within 500 miles of here to even think about it.

That said I'd like to fit a 255/35 but in reading and measuring it may not work, however a 245/35... Thoughts? Minus?
