Hey guys! Anyone at the shootout this weekend?

 

not gonna make it this year man, is your Evo done? I haven't been too active but trying to start contributing again...

 

I was up there Saturday and Sunday.

 

oh shoot, lol I didn't realise it was this past weekend...another shootout gone...how was it?

 

It was pretty good. I was hoping to see that 7-second barrier broken by an Evo this weekend. It didn't happen though... I wrote an article for Haltech to cover it all. http://www.haltech.com/two-haltech-finals-shootout/

My car didn't make it... A while back I finished it and started it up. Let it warm up a couple of times. Went to drive it for the first time and then after 2 miles, it started knocking like crazy. Pulled the engine again and rods 1 and 2 are toasted. I've had SEVERAL mechanics and shop owners look at the damage and tell me it was assembly error by the shop that put the bottom end together for me. I've gotta strip it back down to the short block then take it to them and try to get my money back. Sucks... I haven't driven the car in over a year now... When it did run with the 4G69 in it, it started up faster than ever before, and sounded amazing, boost wanted to come on really quick as well.

 

Anyone know where I could find an RA in decent shape? My little brother is looking for one. If you see any on craigslist or anything let me know. Im in central KY but we could travel around a little to look for something.

My little brother got an RA recently. We've been going back and looking thru some of the old threads. Made me miss chattin' with everybody.

 

YO! Josh whats going on? I miss my RA too. Going to the shootout this year?

 

Heck yeah Bakuro, I still check in often. Still have the yellow Ralliart, still doing track days with it. I miss when you and Cranswick would wind me up by sharing some amazing project, then I'd have to think of stuff to do to my RA to try to keep up. Yes, the old posts are technical gold.

Yea I miss my RA too... The couple I sold it too has been... "having fun" with it for sure though. The girl drove it for a while and covered it in brand decals, and giant hello kitty stickers. Then the guy started driving it. Wrecked it. Fixed it. Then have it wrapped in black and white camo to hide the miss matched body panels... :/ Makes me a little sad, but at least they are enjoying it I guess.

Yea I'll be at the shootout. Stop by the Haltech booth and hang out with us for a while! My Evo should be there. But I just discovered my 4-month-old Competition Clutch just bit the dust... Ejected a spring and tried to sling itself apart... Yippee!

Ah! Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm stoked to hear that you still have your RA! You had any other cool projects or challenges you've faced from tracking your car?

I'd like to hear from Cranswick. I got in touch with him a while back. Have you heard from him? Does he still mess with his RA?

Ive got a few other projects I need to wrap up. But as soon as I do, I have an old 2 door Mirage that I am planning to put a 4G69 in some day. Hoping to set it up to do some RallyX racing.
