ah really? Damn thats a bummer. If mine ever does fail i was planning on picking up another. Guess ill have to plan for other options.
If its larger then stock its not going to out spool the stock turbo. From what I've seen when you have a properly set preload on the stock turbo and WGA its not going to out spool the stock turbo. Of course the wheel designs are more aero efficient im sure, but hks was just marketing their product.
Its not a bad little turbo, and they rarely get shared, that's why I shared it. This one probably needs the WGA preloaded more or something of that nature. I was more impressed with its peak #'s on 91oct then anything thats why I decided to share to give some old school mixed results.
I like to share cars based on their setup. If i feel like others will enjoy seeing it ill share it. I have a stock turbo result ill share soon also that made decent power on low octane with meth.
This car was averaging about 20psi by 3600RPM in 3rd.
(EDIT: I may be wrong and this car in particular I shared has the defective WG flapper issue)
Typical rule of thumb is if a turbos bigger its going to spool a little later. (However I'm not saying better aero in a lighter billet wheel design cannot break this rule though).

I dug up another car I did on the 7460GT II that does have a pretty nice spool Im sharing the logs below:
This one was a 2007 evo ix EDM back in 2012 I did (bc 272 cams). This is also 93 octane fuel.
This was in bar format in the log:
So this one here must of had a WG issue I shared.
One thing to note though this was done in march where its much colder outside, which will improve spool extremely.

Seems to me the average these are doing is 20psi by 3200 when starting pull at 2500RPM in 3rd, and around 25psi by 3500RPM.
Not to say these arent having the WGA issues also. I've done about 20 of these 7460GT2's and averaging the results pretty much.
I know back in the day people had to cut their actuator rods shorter also or it wouldn't even spool right, so these results are all over the place due to a various reasons.

So in your opinion, how does the 7460 spool compare to a stock 9 turbo? I can't recall any stock turbo dynos showing 23psi at 3200 rpm on pump gas.
It spools great. Just make sure the flapper and wastegate are working properly and it looks to spool as good or dare I say better then a stock turbo can on a Evo IX.
What is the correct flapper preload for KAI version?
I would just use the typical half circle with it or upgrade to a different WGA like a turbosmart with a heavier spring set. If the flapper itself is warped though, you have to remove the turbo and machine it and fix it.
