He won the SL Battle at BW today. Fastest car of the day & quickest EvO to ever lap at BW (1:40.051) Quicker than the Sierra Sierra EvO from a few years ago & quicker than Professional Awesome, who competed today as well

Nice work guys! Still setting records with these cars which are a 10+ year platform already!

 

I was also following along with the Professional Awesome guys, who had unbelievably bad luck.

 

I follow them as well & saw the issue Even the Suby team damaged a motor out there.

I have a lot respect for them & their efforts. Heres a pic of how bad it was

 

I think that was after they spun a bearing and ruined their first motor. Bad day for those guys...

 

Looks like fire damage? What happened?

 

Not sure if I have the story 100% correct, but PA lost 2 engines during the event. 1 engine spun a rod bearing

The 2nd engine broke a rod bolt & splattered oil on the header, causing the fire

They have lap data showing a projected lap time of 1:39.20 just prior to the failure. Nevertheless, Andys car still posted the best time of the day.

 

would have loved to see andy and PA battle it out. the day has finally ome where we have multiple VERY fast evo's around the US on sequential transmissions. very interesting time!

 

The RSx365 crew killed this event. Cheers to Andy for his record. Sadly I wasn’t able to make it but I heard it was one of the best time attack events to date.

 

Bit of a budget & development diff between those 2 cars. Andy has proven to be the quicker driver, despite the development deficit

 

PA had Jeff Westphal driving this year at SLB. Jeff is a professional driver and currently holds the unlimited AWD record at Road Atlanta. He’s a first class driver. Sucks he only had limited seat time in the PA Evo. Would’ve been awesome to see him and Andy shoot it out.

I was thinking back to one of the last competitions at the Speed Ring where PA had Daniel O'Donnell behind the wheel.

They gave Andy an opportunity to drive the PA EvO & just about matched Dans time

 

Our time from the last session was late to be discovered by the GTA crew but it was 1:40.051.

Our data had us hopeful we had broken that 1:3x.xxx but there's always next year.

Very bad luck for the PA crew, our guys were in their garage until 3am helping them put that second motor in the car. Next year is going to be fun!!
