Didnt know you were doing an X front caliper change?
If those X calipers are more proud than the 9's, pretty sure a spacer will be needed
they don't have more poke - they just stick forward more - hence the need for 18's, but also the reason why they have better clearance to spokes (out in the area the spokes are further)
+28 can be done, but you will need the rear roll, rear fender pull & the bumper bolt
Your idea of using that +34 is the way to go. Those fit w/out spacers but the spokes are credit card close to the caliper
i think i can't get the 34s.. so it's gotta be the 28 - can you re-run your graph? i'm curious how much pulling and whatever I may need. I think it shouldn't be too far from what I currently have, which only needed the roll (17x9.5 +32, 255/40-17). I've seen a few people say they've ran the 28s all around fine, but probably they don't autox. i'm also not as low as most of those guys either though, and wouldn't hesitate raising the car for more clearance in the rear
Sam
Ran the following: 17x9.5 +32 vs 18x9.5 +28 running a 265/35. This new wheel will have approx .157" more poke but if you run a 265 tire, it appears the tire is what you need to clear
got it. i'm adverse to pulling the fenders so i guess these are out! sad.. and tiring
I agree Sam, As Sean noted, you would have needed rear fender work. (rear pull & the bumper bolt relocation). The pull usually leaves a bit of a crease as noted here:
