PO108 code after switching to 1.7

I switched my UTEC to 1.7 and them I got this code
DTC P0108: Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

I was running Txs stock TBE map and have not changed anything on it yet.

I went and cleared the code and it never came back again.

Also with TXS map I am getting knock around 4k rpms at 20lbs of boost. So the TXS guys may want to richin it up a little bit for future peeps.

Hmm, I didn't get any knock on 93 octane even on stage2.

Nah, it was just a calibration error.. If it doesn't come back its nothing, its caused by the ECU initializing before the UTEC..

Odds are the knock is due to your MAF sensor reading different than their car when it was calibrated.. I found an aftermarket intake caused that on my car.

I got the same - the P0108 code and loads of knock. My knock occured at around 3k and then again at 5k ( if I remember correctly ).

I thought I got the P0108 because when I tried to flash the utec, it failed first time. In fact it took me a few tries before the flash would complete without an error. Also because I was doing this with the UTEC in the car, after the first flash failure, my radiator fan would come on whenever I turned the ignition on ( I stopped this by removing it's fuse in the engine bay ).

Regarding the knock, I am also using the stock map. And when I got the knock I put it down to the fact that I am running 91 Octane, are you also running 91 Octane ?? I got rid of the knock by retading the ignition in the areas of knock.

Finally, I don't know if you have a wideband, but the AF curve that I am getting is really weird - it falls to 12.8 at around 3600, then spikes up to 13.6 ! at 4k before heading down again pretty quickly , finally going below 12 at around 4600 rpm. The richest it ever goes is 11.8 for a third gear run
Even doing a logging run in 4th gear ( where I usually get AF ratios half a point richer than 3rd gear runs ) the richest it ever gets is 11.6 - quite a bit different than Turbo XS's stated 11.1:1.

Anybody else ran the stock map with 91 Octane Ca **** gas ?

For those running 93 Octane or better, how's your AF curve ? Where does it start to go rich ? At what rpm is it below 12:1 ? How rich does it get ? 11.1:1 ? 11.2 ???

What are your mods? Did you load the parameter file? Is open loop on?

I too am having problems/other then expected results with my stage 2 map. I also run the 91 CA gas. I have OLF on, but my max boost in any gear is between 15 - 16 psi and the car revs a lot slower when compared to just letting the factory ECU do everything. If I am in map position 0 the car will boost to 22 then drop to 20 around redline and rev like normal. My mods are just turbo back exhaust with high flow cat.

I do not have a wideband so I do not know what my afrs are, but I only get knock slightly when I put the car under load in fifth gear. Every other gear is fine, no knock.

Code:
Load	Knock Mod Mod Mod WB
RPM MAP MAF	TPS	Site	Count Ign#1 Inj#1 Ign Fuel	Boost MAF AFR
psia Hz % deg duty deg % (OL) Hz
2782	21.9	538	80	10	24	-6.4	23.2	6.7	0	75	580	0
3741	22.1	875	65	10	10	4.1	37.7	8.6	0	75	976	0
3844	22.1	857	65	20	10	3.4	37.9	5.9	0	75	833	0
2727	22.1	490	79	10	5	-4.3	20.5	10.8	0	75	553	0
4591	21.7	1144	100	20	1	2.7	54.8	10.5	0	75	1116	0
All of the knocks only happened in fifth gear. Edit: These lines from the log are not consecutive, they are just the only lines that exhibited knock.

Also, is it normal to only be hitting a highest load site of 70? I was driving around and logging the whole time and after a couple full throttle runs, the highest the load site ever was 70.

Spec C - I did not load the parameter file, can you elaborate on where to get this file for the stage 2 map?

Thanks for the input,

Nick

Spec C,

My car is virtually stock, the only thing I have in there is a K&N panel filter .
I didn't load the parameter file, but I did edit the paramters back to what I was running previous to the flash upgrade ( ie Max Maf value, my external boost sensor gradient and intercept values ). I have Open Loop Fueling turned on.

I presume the paramtere file you are refering to is the one in the same directory as the stock map and stage two map, name " EvoStageIIpara.txt " ? If it is, how is the average Joe supposed to know about this file. I could find no link on turbo XS's website pointing to it.

gtinfosys,

Are you using the ABC bleeder valve ? If not maybe that explains why you are not getting full boost. The boost map on the stock map is set to 75% - I presume to take into account the ABC ? Try changing it a little at a time to see if your boost goes up.

maikonkun,

Good call on the parameter file, I did not even know that was there. There isn't a link for it anywhere.

I do not have the ABC installed, and I hadn't even thought that could be the problem. All the other TXS maps prior to 1.7 I have used do have the boost map going all the way to 100% duty load. I will edit the stage 2 map accordingly tomorrow and see if that will produce the desired boost level.

I suspect it does take that into account since its set for 85%

What is your OLF Transition point? 25% or 35%? I found I'd get some knock when cruising when transitioning between open loop and closed loop control until I raised the threshold. Though in your log, your throttle position is way higher than that..

Not sure what other parameters you have that are different than mine though..
I'm not sure, but I recall Jermaine saying loading the parameter file was not necessary since the defaults were built into the upgraded firmware (MOT file)

What I'm concerned about is that you had trouble uploading the firmware.. You may have to upload it agian with verify turned on, try it on a different computer too.. I found I had one machine running an older O/S that had alot of trouble uploading the flashes.

Who knows what can happen if it became corrupt.

I'm a bit at a loss since I have not had any of these issues you are describing, even the late betas have been fine for me..

Oh, and your load site (when using MAF for reference) is a factor of your MAF reading, to get 100% you would need to exceed and stay at or above the max MAF reading.. for instance if at WOT your maf frequency never goes above 1600, but your maf MAX is 18 (1800) you will hit 70 or 80%.. you should be hitting around 90% and occasionally dipping into 100%, so you need to see what your MAF reading is, and possibly adjust that max value so its around there..

Just ran my OBDII reader and I got this code also. (I'm running test pipe so my CEL was on when I upload the new firmware)

Running stage 2 with TBE as my only mod.

Jermaine did include the new parameters in the updated firmware, which is why there's no link to the new parameters.

It looks like I'm having the same problem that a few other people are having regarding the knock and the P0108. Here's a datalog (3rd gear pull) that I just did a few minutes ago.

Mods:
Cone filter
Turboback Exhaust w/ testpipe
UTEC (no Tuner) w/ Stage 2 Map

3rd gear pull

Boost max out at around 16 psi. I don't have my hex key with me so I couldn't adjust the ABC.

Car seems to be running VERY lean.

Yep, I'd agree with that. And you're seeing pretty the same as what I saw - spikes VERY lean to 4k rpm and then starts coming down rich. Although at least on my run I got below 12:1 AF after 4600 rpm.

I'd exercise caution when you start turning up the boost via you're ABC. I'd kind of forgotten about it, but I didn't get knock whilst my boost was peaking at 16 psi like yours. It was only after I turned it up to the standard 19 psi at 3.5 k rpm that I started getting knock bad

MalibuJack, any other beta tester,

When you did your beta testing did you get lean AFR's like whiterexman's ?

Did you get the AFR staying lean until 4k rpm, and then go rich ?

I'm really curious if it's intended to be like this or if mine and whiterexman's are the exception ?
