Heat Range 9. Good or bad?
Guys, I bought a Ralliart ECU and it gives an agressive spark timming. Ralliart doesn't give any inofrmation about which mods you have to put together with the new ECU. So I went to HKS Kansai web site and saw a performance ECU similar to Ralliart, but they recommend to use some performance parts like the HKS S45G spark plug that is Heat range 9!!!
Someone here tried the Heat Range 9 spark plug?
What are the benefits and problems running with a cooler spark plug?
In my case with a performance ECU... Is necessary to go with a heat Range 9?

Unless you have over 900 HP that sparkplug is so cold that it wouldnt even fire , That porclein would be so for in the plug that you coundnt see it , First you have to make the power than contol it with a the heat range of a spark plug.
It's always better to run colder plugs to prevent knocking.
In fact the colder plugs retard your timing slightly.
9 is a common plug for RX-7s but for a street driven Evo I wouldn't go
colder than 8.
And yes, you can run the Ecu even with warmer plugs but they reccommed
the colder plugs for safety issues.
My FD runs (and starts) fine with HR9 plugs
