How was the service done? What fashion were the injectors cleaned? I'm not sure how cleaning injectors have anything to do with a bad oil pressure switch. What exactly is the problem with the switch? Give me the ENTIRE story.

Yeah, I'm confused.

Where is the oil pressure switch you are referring to?

BTW, injector cleaning is nothing more than pouring some fuel additive into your gas tank. If you really want injectors cleaned, send them to RC injectors to get it done right.

I agree with the others, I don't see how injector cleaner can impact your oil pressure. Are you sure they did the oil change right?

You have been ripped of if that is all you have done.

If the dealer used the Mitsu fuel injection cleaning kit, they would have disconnected the fuel pump, connected the aerosol can to the fuel line going into the fuel rail and run the engine until that can was empty. There is also a tank/pump/line cleaner that you put into the tank. We also take off the intake hose from the throttle body and using carb cleaner and a toothbrush, clean the inside of the bore and the back of the plate if possible. If done correctly it takes about an hour. As you can see this cleans more than just the injectors. It cleans the injectors without removing them, it cleans the fuel rail, the lines and the throttle body. All for less than $90.00. It supports the dealer, shows MMNA that you are maintaining you car according to their specs and it keeps guys like us in a job.

***DISCLAIMER****
Do not spray directly into the throttle body as it can damage the IAC motor!!!

why would you need injectors cleaned at 30K? As long as you're using good gas you should be good for 200k w/o any cleaning. This sounds like one of those things like "lubricate parking brake mechanism" that they say they do but don't.

Just got the car back. I was getting my 30K service done with the free maintenance that came with the evo. They disconnected the fuel line, or something like that, and pumped some checmicals in there to clean the injector/fuel system crap. I know I didn't need it but I said what the heck. I did feel a different after the cleaning car seems to run better. So after the car was done after 20 minutes of driving the Oil pressure light would come on when stopped at a light. This is intermittent and would only come on when idle, if you gas it just a bit it turns off. If your evo has been sitting around for a while and cools down. Everything is fine, NO oil light, but after she warms up (20 - 30 minutes of continous driving, and you come to a stop to idle at a stop light. The Oil pressure light would flick on an off or stay on. This was right after the 30Kservice + injector cleaning but before that everything was great. I'll just stick to the gas additives from Walmart next time. Hmmm... I knew I should have just user redline fuel system cleaner but I got my baby back and she is running great. NO more Oil pressure light... Replaced Oil Pressure switch all under warranty.

Dude, you are not seriously still thinking that it was the injection cleaning are you!?! There is NOTHING on that service that would have caused that light to come on. Looks like a coincidence to me. Do you not see that?!?

If I understand you right, the service was free, right? You got the problem fixed under warranty, right? I fail to see the problem or the reason for the paranoia.

working at a dealer and seeing this service being done time after time I can assure you that it was quite a coincidence that the oil pressure switch failed, The BG system Fuel cleaning runs a injector cleaning from the fuel line going to the fuel rail the return line is pinched the fuse for the fuel pump is removed and a mister is set to spray the throttle body car is started and run untill the fluids are finished, nothing to do with oil pressure no timing change basically the car runs on a cleaner and then shuts of everything is put back together and car is road tested to clean out the remainder carbon build up... I'm not a tech but at least I'm informed.

+1 I work at a dealer and there is NO reason that light should come on due to Fuel Injection cleaning. Things happen.
