Really need some help after Cam install guys

I guess my #1 question is this...Is it normal to have a cel code after a cam install. Specifically camshaft position sensor A and is crankshaft position sensor A cel codes and is that indicative of an install issue. My car is back at the installer's and will be getting looked over tomorrow morning so I would really appreciate any constuctive thoughts. BTW the timing belt seemed to have quite a bit of slack which I would think is unusual.

I bet they left the crank angle sensor unplugged. The sensor plug is right behind the left hand side of your valve cover. It is shaped like a triangle but with rounded edges. As far as the cam sensor; they may have the inside of it turned 180 degrees off. It is very easy to do if you don't pay attention to how it was facing when it was pulled out. Good luck.

If it was the crank sensor not plugged in the car would not start.

He never said the car was running. It is possibly to crank the car over and throw your codes.

thanks for the comments guys, I drove the car about 55 miles. It didn't idle well, but it ran fine, but I didn't take it over 4500, mostly 3000 rpm. I didn't expect it to idle all that great until I got it tuned. I was on my way to get it custom tuned and thought it might be safer to have it towed back to the installer and have it checked.

Your Timing could be off.

Timing on the T-belt not ignition.

Update. Mechanic broke it down and redid the timing belt, no bent valves, car runs and idles good, no cel. But I'm trying to get an emergency appointment with RRE just to get a second opinion and make sure all is good. Mike at RRE said half the timing belt jobs they do on the 4g63 are to fix someone else's work. He also said most people don't risk it with their Evo. They are going to recheck/redo everything and replace my clutch and flywheel (not taking any more chances). Thank God as of yet there appears to be no damage.

I have to say Al was pretty helpful and reasonable about it all and may well have spared me a catastrophy. Just wish I could have gotten a custom tune.
