Finally, 20G-9 dyno #'s!

Well I just got home from a long day at the dyno shop.

Edit: I also wanted to mention the complete list of NEW parts that are now installed on the car since my last dyno.

Buschur 20G-9 w/upgraded actuator
SSautochrome 02 housing (coated)
Buschur Race FMIC
Buschur lower intercooler pipe
1000cc injectors
Snow performance methanol injection kit.

This was done on an AWD DynoJet.

All the car mods are in my sig.

I will try to get TopSpeed to post the dyno charts tomorrow.

The car made 430.39 whp and 377.94 trq on meth and C16 with 29 psi and dropping down to around 26.

Because the upgraded actuator wouldn't go below 23-25 psi at the beginning we had to add a tad of C16 to raise the octane level and get a base map before the meth could be sprayed. I poured in about 1.5-2 gallons of C16 into about 3-4 gallons of 93 pump gas.

Once the map was looking good we added the meth injection. I can't remember off hand, but I think the car made around 400 whp and 377 trq on the C16/93 mix with boost hitting 27 psi and dropping down a few psi.

congrats..thing must feel like a beast. seems like we may never see numbers for this turbo on pump (93) due to the upgraded actuator boost issue.. guess all you need now is a set high lift cams to bring up the torque..hehe..going by buschurs recent post of course.

Spool is similar to stock. I wouldn't count on any pump gas numbers as this turbo isn't a pump gas turbo.

I dont know why you think this isnt a pump gas turbo. I think most people were under the impression that it was a good pump gas turbo. 20g's hae always been good pump gas turbos. I think it will just take some more testing to get things right for pump.

Either way....nice numbers. Keep us informed.

I don't know if the "normal" actuator will allow you to run lower boost, but the upgraded actuator wouldn't go below 23 psi and last time I checked..... You can't run 23 psi on 93 pump gas without knocking like a *****.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I read that Dave said you could run the stock actuator and be fine.

however, I dont want this to take away from your post. Thanks for the dyno numbers. Post up those graphs when you get a chance.

Thanks,
Nathan

At what RPM do you hit full boost in 3rd or 5th gear? In 5th on my stock '04 turbo I am getting 21psi at 2800rmps. How much higher is the 20G-9?

Starting the pull @ 3,000 rpms in 3rd gear, on race gas + meth the boost hits 29 psi at 4,400 rpms.

1,400 rpms later, but I don't know how that would be on the street. I will have to make a couple logs and get back to you.

^ thanks for the info. If you could do a 5th gear roll on from 2500 or so that would be awesome. I really want this turbo, but I need to see how it does in real world conditions.

Congrats on the great numbers!

here are are some quick quotes form buschurs 9-20G thread.. did you try what he said to bring boost down. i know you weren't the only 9-20g user that has had boost issues, maybe he needs to address it since the masses run pump.

The wastegate actuator isn't absolutely needed. What I have done on my car makes boost easy though. I just pull the hose off the boost control and run it straight to my BOV vacuum/boost line for pump gas and then when I want to run high boost I put it back onto the boost control. Quick and easy. With the high boost actuator on my car if I go from a stop, like a drag race, the car holds 20 psi in every gear to redline. IF I roll into the throttle and load the car hard, so in 4th or 5th gear though the boost will go as high as 22-23 psi and then fall off. With the boost controller hooked up it stays just about where I set it.
What I am saying is runnning directly off the high boost actuator the car holds 19 psi to redline with no boost controller. The actuator is needed to keep the wastegate closed at high boost.

Ummm.....When are you going to be at 2,500 rpms in 5th gear and in the "real world"?

On second thought, why wouldn't you downshift to 4th?

I did what Buschur said and bypassed the boost controller exactly how he described it in the quote. It spiked to 25 psi and held 23 all the way to redline. It didn't work for me so maybe he was talking about the "regular" actuator.

Nice numbers. I'm still gonna wait for some 93 octane numbers first. Screw some race gas and alky injection.
