mines kinda wierd it will start at bout 35psi then bout 10 mins of drivin it will jump to 75 and bounce up and down from 75 psi to passed 100psi thats the highest my gauge goes its an auto meter cobolt by the way oh yeah thats not a cold start either that all the time even at normal engine temp at a consistant speed of 80mph its stays at 65psi

i have the autometer nexus guages. ( oil, fuel, boost, nitrous). i was just wondering because ive never seen it go higher than 80... but ive also had this car less than a week, it isnt tuned, so i wanted to make sure i didnt mess anything up.?
You will see the pressure go up and down if you used the fitting on the oil filter housing.. Typically it jumps when the oil cooler thermostat opens and closes, there's a large pressure drop when it opens, and when it closes, pressure will rise...
Sometimes very high pressure is an indicator of some sort of restriction, but it doesnt sound like it on your car.. When was the last time you changed your oil? Some filters (and some filter housings, I'm not sure if ours has it) has a pressure bypass if the filter gets clogged for any reason..
Since you don't say where your oil pressure sender is tapped from, I can't say if this is relevent, but if its tapped in the oil cooler line (or the fitting for the line), then you will see the pressure rise and drop regularly, when the engine is up at operating temp or slightly higher, it should open and your pressure would rise on the gage.. Of course, if that is where it is, you should move it.
I don't have a oil pressure gage in my car so I never personally experienced this on the car.
