ECUflash forum request
Hi there, I know I'm not alone in this request ... can we please have the 'Dyno Flash "E FLASH!" now available' thread moved to the Dynoflash forum?
If Mr. Friedman would like to join in technical discussions in the ECUflash forums, then he should by all means. However, I always thought that product announcements or marketing threads should go into a vendor's forum, not a general forum.
Please keep this thread open long enough for others in the ECUflash forum to chime in.
Thanks.

I would agree 100%. There is no technical information in that thread, its just dozens of people asking when Al is going to email them a map.
How many people do we need to get that post removed?

Please Mr. Kudikraut - if my post offends you so greatly just dont read it
I really do not understand how it could be so bothersome or offensive to you as I am simply offering a service which is of benefit to the members and which helps to continue my business
I am one of the vendors paying to support this community and thus I can utilize the forums to promote my services.
I would point out that Tactrix is NOT a paying vendor on here. Everyone of my customers buying a E FLASH! map from me is also buying a $89.99 flashing cable from Tactrix which directly benefots the development of more Tactrix products.
I give the anology of putting out video games for a gaming console - I am just supplying the softwear that people can use with the hardwear.
The fact that my thread that you dont like is the largest one on that section of the forums in both views and posts should be some indication of the high interest in my thread.
Thanks Al

Al,
I would prefer the EchFlash forum to be a technical base only. I do not think that you or any other vendor should be using the ECUFlash forum (or any other Evo Engine Management ) subsection to sell you goods or services.
you already have the vendor sales and your own private forum to do this function, please take advantage of it.

Please take advantage of it? His forum moves so fast, I can barely keep up with the threads.
There are plenty of people who don't go to the Dynoflash forum when looking for EcuFlash information. So, with that thread, people see that they have an alternative solution when using EcuFlash without having to worry about doing all the tuning themselves. They now have an unbelievably cheap way to get started with a professional tune that they can then use to tweak if they so choose. If not for a thread in the EcuFlash forum, those people wouldn't even know.
Yes, a lot of the posts are people asking for their e-flashes, but that should tell you just how popular that alternative has become - even moreso than Al can keep up with - but had he not posted it, those people wouldn't have known.

I agree. Technical info only. Venders have their own forums and the For Sale forums.
I don't have a problem with Al or vendors posting in the ECUflash forums but it should be about information, not selling product.

I think it is fine if the thread stays. It's not like Al is creating lots of threads in the ECUflash section and cluttering it up with his stuff. He has only one thread there that is showing people that they can use ECUflash in conjunction with his maps.

Tech info only from vendors in the EcuFlash the threads please.
No offense Al, but the ECuFlash forum is a tech based forum not necessarily about sales, paying vendor or not. You are a paying vendor thus you have your very own forum. The EcuFlash threads are starting to be polluted by complaints and flames surrounding you. This is starting to be counter productive to the community.
Everyone is buying an Evo here, and Mitsubishi is not a paying vendor so the point is not valid. In fact, Mitsubishi is providing the hardware and software if you may, that tuners are hacking and retuning so we can go faster. You provide a service that's all.
Your are not supplying any software, EcuFlash developers and community are offering free software and you provide some maps. Game developers, such as myself do not and cannot use free software to try to make capital gain, so please do not use this poor analogy.
Really Al, I am not intending on offending you but you really need to calm down pushing sales in the EcuFlash forum and contribute tech info only. This would be more beneficial to the Evo community in the long run. It could gain more customers for you based on helpfulness and not pushy sales tactics and flame threads.

Happy Fourth Everyone!!
Based upon the comments here and a review of the thread of interest, I have moved it to the Evo Vendor Classifieds - Power Train forum. The thread is a great place to inquire about the E Flash and arrange purchases. But there is very little technical information being exchanged. The move is consistent with our past policies as we created the Vendor Forums (paid for by the vendor) and a Vendor Review Forum for commercial activities. The latter is to provide a central location for members to discuss vendor products and services while keeping the general and technical forums........ well general and technical.
I feel it is important that the ECUflash forum remain a grassroots effort without a continuous solicitation thread. And I'm sure everyone welcomes the vendor's technical input. I also realize that new members to the ECUflash forum may not know that some of our vendors offer maps utilizing the ECUflash software.
I'll also post a non reply sticky in the forum announcing that some Evom vendors do offer commercial maps that can be utilized by the software. The only entry will be a link to those vendors who offer the service. Any Evom vendor in addition to Dynoflash who would like to be included please PM me. Thanks.
