Talking New Nisei Competition FMIC Installed- 56k No No

So I received the new Nisei Competition FMIC from Kevin at Nisei after deciding to upgrade and sell my Nisei Street FMIC and get the new Competition one(can also be ordered from The Evo Store)...I must say the packaging was great, no bent fins- beautifull cast and polished end tanks that are super strong (Ive seen numerous FMIC from other companies like Buschur come to the customer with tons of bent fins and the end tanks that were welded were all bent and needed to be brought to a Muffler shop to be fixed)...<--and that is one main Reason why to go with Nisei.

Install.... install went perfect and fitment even though the new core was a half inch wider went great.. took only about a half an hour to switch out the cores and tighten everything up once the front bumper was off--Crash bar fit over the Unit like this FMIC came with the car stock...

First Driving Impression... I run Zeitronix datalogging software with Medical Grade Boost sensor and believe it or not my datalog compared to yesterday (same temps and around same time of day) only thing changed was the FMIC - Boost was up .7 psi and it reached the higher number about 150rpms sooner.. Couldnt be happier with the unit and the guys at Nisei.

Now Heres the Pictures--

Impressive, but seems like the end tanks were reduced to compensate for a bigger core.

Either way looks like a nice piece overall. Another item to confuse my decision on which FMIC to get.

That is a HUGE core I must say.I like the design alot of it. Especially the fact it went behind the crash bar. But why was Buschurs name brought up in this?

What turbo are you running? Did you notice an increase in power when you went from your stock FMIC to the street Nisei?

5 Mins from your house is key...no shipping costs either
But as for the proven part- I see their 9 second cars run it- but I dont have a 9 second car and numbers are numbers

Increase in power is hard to tell... Im running a IX 20g tubo at 28psi---- Like I said previously boost went up .7 yet my A/F stayed the same- showing less boost lost (more efficient fmic) and colder air keeping the a/f a lil richer

nice... well i meant did you see a noticable power increase when you changed your OEM FMIC to the previous Nisei you just replaced. Good to see that by switching from the standard nisei to the competition that there isn't any sacrifice for anything... only positive results over the standard.

"numbers" can be skewed quite easily. The number "-4" stands out in particular. 9 second timeslips are 9 second timeslips no matter what.

I wouldn't be so quick to say the numbers were "skewed." Nisei has always encouraged independent testing of their products and I highly doubt they would manipulate their test results or need to. Regardless of the testing posted on their website, the quality and performance gains on both Nisei cores have been proven by end users. Not trying to take anything away from the AMS core but a 9 second timeslip doesn't mean that the AMS core is better than the Nisei core. A comparative test would be more definitive.

why does these types of topics lean this way?...man he was just giving us(evom members) feedback about the nisei comp. core avalilable to us evo owners. what he basically states is that in fact(based on his data) the core is not only bigger but has shown some type of gains in his experiment. Im sure ams' race core can be quite expensive and has been proven to cool anything those huge turbos throw at it and of course ams is a rep. company and is not being dogged on in any way but he is giving us his opinion about the services buschur provides...(i've had a bad experience with buschur's customer service...things like a tracking # or what was going on with my order?...was it shipped? just these questions that bugged me, i was just kindly waiting for my product....)...buschur on the other hand is also known in the world of 4g63's as a man who has products that has proven itself time over time...i have ordered the front engine mount and its working great, it serves its purpose but the quality of the product was not all that great 8 out of 10 would be the score for the craftsmanship but at a great deal for the engine mount, who can be that? and it serves it purpose perfectly.
just my .2 cents

--my question to you thatsmr2 is has the regular nisei core shown any improvements over stock?...dyno numbers?...i know an evom. member didnt like the original core and sold it(i believe it was wrxtoevo) but then it again upgrading intercoolers really depends on your upgrades(was this necessary for you?) i mean the orginal core is pretty thick already 3 1/2. if so im interested in the original core that you took off?..you selling it...also are you using stock pipes or aftermarket(im pretty sure its aftermarket) nice though!!!!
