AMS takes NASA TTU National Championship!!

Jon and the guys at AMS are NASA TTU National Champs!

Despite a dying alternator that completely went in the last session, and two leaky rear tires, Jon put together a 1:34.3 lap yesterday which was good enough for the win by over a second. We were charging the battery between sessions and starting the car in grid with a jumper battery. By the end of the warmup lap in the last session, battery voltage was down to 10 volts! Second place in TTU went the the Crawford STI, third to Dieter in a Buschur sponsored Evo.

Robi and Dave had a horrible weekend, I feel real bad for them. Robi's car is hosed - a Porsche on a cool down lap drove right into the side of him. Then the Buschur Time Attack car broke down, Dave had no idea what it was but a teardown will be in order once the weekend is over. Dieter's car showed up at Buschur's on tuesday needing an engine. They got the car together, but by saturday Dieter and Robi were sharing the car, and Robi was unable to better his time in TTR finishing second.

Congrats again guys, it's been fun following you around since One Lap! I'll be putting up some pics later today.

Here's one of the Champ after his hard fought victory!

Oh my - Thats sad news about Robert's Evo. He is supposed to be headed back thru the midwest doing some installs this week. I wonder if this will affect his plans!

Dezpite the crash Robi seemed in good spirits, he borrowed a TTU car and got 2nd in TTR, so the trip wasn't a total loss. He is also towing the Crawford STi, so if he was planning something I doub't either would mess it up.

Congratulations Jon and AMS. AMS will need a bigger show room for all the wood they are amassing. Just need to get some duplicates made up so we can keep a copy for ourselves

Are those some 17 x 9.5 SBC RPF-1's? Tasty Jon, good work.
