The A2 thread

This thread is strictly for discussion of parts that A2 sells. This is not a thread to discuss A2's customer service. If you have anything on your car that they made, please contribute. Please keep this on topic, and no bashing will be tolerated.

Thanks

Kurt

OK, cool. Well I'll start. Please delete any of this that becomes bashing-ish.
I purchased 2 stage 3 (twin throttle body kits) from A2 back when they first appeared on these boards. The first one (4G93 manifold) arrived broken (and missing a fuel rail), so I sent it backed to be fixed. After about a month and a half, I finally got mine back (this time, a 4G94 manifold). Even when I had just the pipes, I knew they would have to be rerouted to fit. So I install the manifold one day and it fits fine except my 04 fuel rail doesn't fit the 03 manifold. Also I get that working ghetto rigged and it runs crappy. When put in park or neutral it dies, even after I do the relearn process a few times. The pipes aren't even close to fitting now. So I remove it and went back to stock. I got no fuel rail, the manifold wasn't bored, and the pipes didn't fit at all. I give it 2 thumbs down. I have also heard that without standalone and other ECU sensors and stuff it would have never worked anyways.

A2 Design Pulley. I got it for free with no belts because my previous order (shifter linkage bushings) did not fit. Well, one of them did but the other one simply was not for a lancer. Philip Prench was nice enough to offer me a free FPR but I wanted a red pulley and that's what I got. It came with no instructions or part numbers for the belts. I asked Philip for the numbers and after a while he gave it to me. I assumed he was busy with setting up his new business and besides I got my part for free...what do I have to complain about? After all this I gave Philip positive feedback because I was satisfied with everything. I have to complain about the shipping since my order was two weeks late but it's not like it's something new with vendors.

I know that the pulley was not designed by A2 designs. It's Unortodox pulley for a Mirage. Maybe it's a bad thing for A2 to sell it and claim it as their own but none of use should complain about it because they do offer a very competitive prices on this kit.

A2 isn't the only company that uses parts not of their design and labels their parts as theirs. Just thought I'd put that out there.

the only thing i've gotten from A2 is the pulley and i give it two big fat thumbs up. definitely feel it in the higher rpms. sorta gives you a passing gear too. two new belts work great too. don't know about how they handle all there other products but the pulley is ok by me

Ordered the stage two upgrade package. SUPPOSED to come with FPR, BORED fuel rail, bored 4g93 intake manifold, and i opted to buy the mivec injectors also(said to have been pre cleaned).
FPR arrived broken and chipped so i haven't been able to hook it up.
No fuel rail was included...
4g93 manifold seems to be bored, can't really tell though, may be barely evn bored at all...
Manifold was chipped and obvious drips could be seen in the paint...
Injectors were dirty covered in black grime looking residue...
All of this was thrown in around a 25" x 25" box with a few sheets of crumpled newspaper, and a single sheet of bubble wrap. Packages were also inside but all pieces were scattered in the box. Broken FPR glass was in the box along.
After inspecting the items numerous parts were missing such as screws, FUEL RAIL, plate to connect FPR to fuel rail. I will not say if this was a bad experience or a good one. You make your own decision based on what i have said. Peace!

^ Samething for me ^

I ended up boxing everything but the 93 manifold. That I had to payed someone else to port it, since it wasnt. Everything else is still in the box taken up space in my room.

No word from Prench, since the "everything is ported to lancer specs" PM he sent me.

On the UP side. I got intouch with Aaronbrook37, a co-worker of Prench and he said he would trying to get everything straightened out for me.

Now hes even given up on Prench.

I really thank you guys for posting this because I was about to order their turbo kit for the lancer. Seeing as how A2 cant seem to get the little things right or even made proper (this is from what I read all over this forum so far) and the fact that they state you will get this and it will be this then it turns out that things are missing and tech support sends you back a message like this......

No, your post wasn't that helpful i guess. Also I forgot to talk about packaging. My first manifold cames in a beat up box, no problem. But the inside was a smashed little box under the manifold, a quarter inch broken styrofoam board under and on one side of the box, and maybe 2 or 3 crumpled sheets of newspaper between some parts. Second manifold came in a box barely big enough for the manifold stuffed with newspaper which was better.
