questions about simple log parameters

hey guys, just a couple of quick questions about this log i took. its pretty much the first one that was somewhat complete. sorry if i seem a little remedial on this subject but i am trying to learn.

its an 03 VIII btw with some simple bolt ons, intake tbe mbc etc. i log this using mitsulogger and the tactrix cable. and we did it during the day and had a hard time finding a good place to do it that was somewhat safe, so i will get back to it come out with a little better data, i also have not installed my wideband o2 yet. its an lc-1 ill do more logs when i get that bung in and hook everything else up.

so i have attached the spreadsheet below,

first question why when i am completly off the throttle does it show 14.51 and is that a big deal?

also around 3100 rpm theres two spots with 6 counts of knock, and can someone explain the afrmap section and the 02 column is that voltage?

sorry for the noob style questions, ive been reading a lot on this and am still trying to understand this. so i guess i feel that this is too lean especially for a stock tune,
i am running abou 21 peak psi.

if you need more info or any other questions to evaluate let me know.

Thanks for any input in advance!!
Ethan

p.s. sorry that it is in zip format i couldnt post a excel file on here or a word doc more then 100k, seems kind of a small window to me. either way let me know if you have trouble opening it.

the idle throttle position varies between 12 and 15 from car to car.

what is your timing at 3000 rpm where in the log you have -3? I mean in your hi and lo timing map(ecuflash).

anyway try starting your wot from 3000rpm instead of 2000. the low starting wot really puts a strain on your car. once the car starts knocking due to that load it tends to keep knocking.
if when you start at a highter rpm the car still knocks you will need to take out some timing, or add fuel. but you don't know fuel yet and you shouldn't need to go negative at 3k and 250 load.

look into logging 2byte load, if you don't already have it.

you have a lot of power, if the load is correct, other mods/ injectors, cams?

no there, thanks for looking,

first off as for mods, all i have is what i listed before, K&N intake, Buschur TBE with high flow, Perrin MBC set to around 20 or 21 PEAK psi. and The plugs that buchur sells ngk's but i cant rember the number on them, they said those are the ones that most people run on their evo's.

anyways makes sense about the starting of logging at 2k so ill try like 2.7k or 3k for WOT. see if that makes a difference.

about logging 2byte load can u explain that a little bit, im not really sure what that means, sorry im still very new to this, but a fast learner.

as far as what is the timing for 3000 rpm at 260 load per cent its -5 for high octane and -10 for low octane if i am reading them correctly

and just out of curiosity why do u say i have a lot of power and how does that depend on the load,

again sorry for the noobish questions im just trying to learn here, i really appreciate you input.

thanks!
Ethan

ethan,
the relatively high numbers in the load column, 250+ with so few mods is pretty impressive.
1, -5 looks low, has your car been tuned ? current thread in ecuflash forum "show..timing maps" will indicate what some people are getting away with, do not look at IX maps, and watch out for race gas or other additives in some of those maps.
Important that you do not try some ones map, cars and mods are all different. iow wait for your wideband.

2, your best bet would to read through some of the stickied threads in the ecuflash forum.

your post will get a lot more traffic in the ecuflash forum.

hmmm, i did by the car used, but he was an older guy well not too old but 39 or so. everything seemed to be stock on it and untouched. all i could see that was changed was that is had the p0300 reflash from mitsu in 2004, and i had it done again last year. well that "said" that they did it hasnt come back for some time now. so i beleive it has never been tuned. car only had 10k for miles on it too.

is there a reason that the load values could be wrong? i mean i dont see where i could have screwed up if they are. i did have the car on a dyno quite some time ago about 8 months or so, it was spiking almost 22psi hitting 279.9 for awhp and 275 or so for tq i beleive. i remeber that is was running pretty lean, i think it was because of the higher boost, i didnt really mean it be that high, it was hitting boost cut in 4th gear, we turned it down to about 21psi.

i will try to post this in the ecu flash forum and see, and ill try to find some info about the load values.

thanks for the input.
