Ix Rs Cage Pics
Well, I stopped by to check out the progress. I'm not sure if the car will ever run again, but the cage looks great
LOL... What a job these guys are doing. Its good to know people
They are going above and beyond. They are even fixing my exhaust that sticks out too far from the JDM bumper. Here are some pics. Just so everyone knows, the door beams in an evo IX RS are about 2 pounds a door. Absolutely not worth the time or risk to remove them. I have heard lots of stories how heavy they are and that is completely false in a IX RS's case. Hope everyone likes the follow ups
I'm trying to document it as best I can.
The roll cage is being done by RACE-CAR BUILDER'S. They build the finest roll cages in the country. I have the contact info if anyone needs it.

Nice.. Anthony does a really nice job.. The unique part will be the front bars.. He is one of the only guys around here that can bend them to follow the lines of the inside of the roof..
Yeah, I like his work...

MostWanted, I also JUST found out about the front door crash beams. I took the passenger side out and weighed it. 3.4 lbs and it's Aluminum, not Steel like I had kept hearing. Don't know if the RS is different, but no way in lucifers hood that I'm going to go through that again, not for 3.4 lbs!! Tony can make two morning 'dumps' and save more than that.

i like that design, looks like you could use it in a street car.
so does supporting the rear section through the trunk provide better strength than putting a support down to the floor by the rear seat?

The design of this cage is awesome though and it will provide plenty of strength and protection if needed....
