The DI unit is without a doubt one of the nicest looking units I have seen.

Tom is a great guy and it was a pleasure to meet him. It was nice of him to drive all the way to deliver it. Good people.

I am trying to get one of his drag units for my car as well.

Thumbs up

this kit is for sale in the for sale section. 2900 shipped

He means the T3 .82 A/r back housing with a T3 manifold. I was looking for more streetability with the cast set up. I feel the turbo is designed for the drag strip racer. I drive 140 miels to work and back and this is not the right fit for me.

Is this because of the lag? How was the car, with this turbo, when you did drive it on the street?

Thanks

It's all relative IMO my bolt on car 310whp is boring as can be to me when it comes to straight line speed. My last car did 125mph on pump (cobra) and it was starting to feel slow when I sold it This time around I'm looking for 128-130 on pump and over 140mph on race gas.

I like your thinking.
I was trapping 125 on pump at 21-20psi a week ago and I was thinking. Hmm 130+ on pump would be much better

Just to fill in the blanks on this project,

We made 680 something whp with just over 40 psi of boost with the stock intake and T/B on this turbo / manifold combo

We added the DI manifold and large T/B to the car and retuned

The car lost significant spool up and also dropped 12 whp corrected for temp change

The thinking is that the turbo combination was not matched well to the DI intake and T/B change as it was previously about maxed out for the turbo / back housing combination and apparently did not have any more to fill the void of the larger volume intake

Of course this is all speculation

Apparently the customer is now obtaining a Buschur turbo of some sort with tubular manifold and we will take it from there
