I think I may have found a new 3port boost solenoid...that comes on every EVO

how do you connect the vaccum hoses to a external WG with this solenoid?

Same way you would connect any other 3 port to an external WG.

Just search in the ECUflash forum for how to hook up a GM 3 port to a external WG. Search "GM 3port/3 port external WG/wastegate" or something similar.

Then after you know how to hook the ext. WG to a GM 3port, youll be able to hook it up to this solenoid.

Sub'd.

Curious to see if its as "fast acting" as the GM BCS.

FYI, when I finally switched to pump I had about 1/3 the WGDC on the EGR solenoid for those boost levels (as compared to an AEM with resistor)!

How else did you feel about it? Did you just test it or did you continue using it?

Any opinions, results, fact, theories, etc you'd like to share?

If EGR solenoid has 1/3 WGDC, isn't it hard to stabilize the boost correction? (3% of WGDC change is now ~1% WGDC change)

Still continuing to use it, still working rock solid. Its been months now at 28+psi and now a few weeks at aiming for ~23. Haven't had much time to tune.

No harder than it should be for any other solenoid. Sure, dynamic range is reduced, but if it was hard to tune I could just reduce my error corrections. So far it has been working well, and I think these are more in-line with levels that a normal solenoid would react at. I believe the AEM with a resistor might take longer to energize (similar to the response time for the GM with resistor) and may have been slowed greatly for lower duty cycles.

Thanks for your input!

If it does have enough resolution to stabilize the boost, lower WGDC itself shouldn't be a problem. I guess it is time to get one myself and replace my WORKS boost line that gives me boost peaks.

Well I just ripped off all my EGR/EVAP crap so I'm gonna go this route!
